The new 'Doctor Strange 2' images show the intense look of the four leads, but still no villains.
Marvel Studios has dropped four new images from the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The stills give a good look at the four central characters - Doctor Strange, Wanda Maximoff, Wong and franchise newcomer America Chavez.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
Although three of the four films are mainly intense mid-shots of Strange, Wong and Wanda, it still shows American Chavez that he is somewhat engaged in action. At a time when online chatter about the Marvel movie's obscure visuals seems to be facing another setback, these images certainly invite further dissection - especially since they reveal nothing about the film's intensively protected plot.
Directed by Sam Raimi and written by Michael Waldron, Multiverse of Madness comes after the event of Doctor Strange Spider-Man: No Way Home, which debuted with great success in December. The recent Oscar nominee (and who knows, he may even be an Oscar winner when this movie comes out) returns to the character of Benedict Cumberbatch Strange, who inadvertently split Multiverse at No Way Home. This gaff allowed to be shown on MCU with the help of Tom Holland's version of Peter Parker's character in the alternate universe. It is believed that Doctor Strange 2 will further explore this concept.
Wanda Maximoff
Cumberbatch says, quite boldly, in a recent interview with Empire that the film will be as successful as No Way Home. "You go there, I'll put my flag in the sand," he said.
While it remains to be seen, there are rumors circulating on the internet about who may or may not appear in the film. All we know for sure is that Patrick Stuart will be back, although it is not clear exactly who he is playing. Although he would not expect any reward for guessing Professor X. Xochitl Gomez co-starring as America Chavez, who, according to Raimi, will give a weird multiverse-related lesson "Know All".
All eyes are also on the filmmaker, for which it is the first feature in almost a decade. Raimi has famously directed every film in the Spider-Man trilogy starring Tobey Maguire. He replaces original director Scott Derickson, who dropped out after mentioning creative differences.
